1. Texas Parks and Wildlife: The City of Coldspring will redevelop its 4.5-acre City Park #2. The grant scope includes playground equipment, new walking trails, demolition/renovation of existing trails, native planting, lighting, and signage.
2. Texas Department of Transportation: Sidewalk improvement constructing a 5-foot-wide sidewalk from Pine Drive to SH 156. This project is designed to create more accessible conduits for pedestrian movement throughout the community, to enhance connectivity and to promote alternative transportation for non-motorized travelers.
3. GLO Community Development Block Grant Mitigation Program Resilient Communities Program (RCP): Funds CDBG-MIT activities that work to increase a community’s resilience to disasters and reduce or eliminate the impact of further disasters. A comprehensive plan is developed including identification of local hazard risks, population study providing an estimate of the current population and project for population increase over the next 20 years, develop a housing study describing the composition of the exiting housing stock and a projection for the number of future housing unites needed 10 years from the date of the plan, develops a land use plan that formalizes long=term community goals into governing policies describing the land use of every parcel within the jurisdiction and including a future land use map that accounts for future population changes, develops an infrastructure study that describes the water, wastewater, drainage, and street systems.
4. Community Development Block Grant Mitigation (MIT MOD): Sewer Collection System improvement project from FM 2025 to Weaver Street.
5. Texas Department of Agriculture CDBG 2023-2024 Grant: Grant will allow for sewer line installation along Faulkner Avenue and provide for first time services along with manhole replacement in southern section of the city.
6. Records Retention Building: The City of Coldspring is in the process of planning and constructing a new Records Retention Building. This structure will include an office and a substantial storage area to retain legal documents for the City.
7. Revitalization of the Coldspring Community Center: The City of Coldspring is in the planning stage for the revitalization of the Coldspring Community Center at 101 E. Cedar Street. Grant funding will be sought to complete this project. Completion projection date – 2026/2027.
8. The City of Coldspring Sports Complex: The City of Coldspring continues its goal of Ballpark revitalization focused on safety and security. In 2024, Phase I, which included electrical safety improvements at all field lighting and fencing, and a new restroom and concession stand facility, was completed for a cost of $429,863.49.
9. Master Plan City Hall Property: The City of Coldspring in the process of creating a Master Plan for the City Hall Property 14211 State Hwy. 150 W, which includes mapping of all utilities. This Plan will be available for future construction on the expansion of the City Hall, additional parking, extended sidewalks and possible construction of a small outdoor pavilion area.
